Volunteering

I signed up to be a Junior Achievement volunteer in my daughter's first grade classroom this winter. I'll probably teach my first lesson in the next couple weeks. I've never volunteered in a classroom before but teaching first graders about wants vs needs and the basics of personal finance intrigued me. Have any of you been a JA volunteer? Any teachers or volunteers out there want to give me any tips?

I have volunteered with Junior Achievement several times and the folks who organize it in my school district (in Mobile, AL) make it suuuper easy. They give you a tool kit with every workbook and teaching reference you will need. I would simply review the lesson plan the night before a class, and head on it! I found that the activities provided in the kits were a great way to engage the students so I'd definitely recommend using them :)

Cheers!
